As a visual artist, I am fascinated by the way people present themselves in society, and I use my observations to create works that reveal the intolerable realities that exist in our world. My work is a reflection of my belief that visual observation is the key element in storytelling.

My works are vibrant and flashy at first glance, but upon closer inspection, they confront the viewer with the bleak reality of our society. I take direct suggestions from newspa- pers and Bengali fairy tales to create works that have strong narratives that we can relate to in these times. As an image maker, I show reality as it is, from a distance, with- out judgement.

I play the role of a commentator, presenting the undercurrents of society for the viewer to see consciously and take the 'Rasa' from it. My influences range from Bengali culture to Western music, movies, and poetry, which I use to derive colour and composition that best suits the narrative. I will continue to reflect on the contemporary through the lens of age-old narratives that still hold true.
