The Moon on an Old Scooter is based on a Saura oral folk lore from Odisha. Janha Mamu (Chanda Mama) is an Odia name for the moon.

Pooltah Blackdot is an artist. He works with found objects, everyday materials, linearity, time, space, memories and personal experiences. He likes to work in a variety of media. He is currently teaching Art at Sushant University, Gurugram.
